 Mgahinga National Park is situated within the Virunga Mountains, it is the smallest park in Uganda covering approximately 33.9km sq. Visitors can embark on guided hikes to explore the park's three volcanoes: Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabinyo. Each volcano offers unique trekking experiences, including breathtaking views of

 Mgahinga National Park was formerly completely inhabited by the Batwa people, who are indigenous forest dwellers with a rich cultural heritage. Visiting the Batwa trials gives you a chance to relive their traditional ways of life like hunting techniques, and medicinal plant use, as well as opportunities to participate in traditional dances and lastly storytelling by the Batwa women.

Renowned for its population of endangered mountain gorillas, Mgahinga national park gives Visitors an opportunity to embark on guided gorilla trekking expedition to observe these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. The park is home to one habituated gorilla group, and permits are required for gorilla trekking, which can be obtained through Uganda Wildlife Authority, as we all know  nature cannot be rushed so trekking can take between 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on your luck.
