Mgahinga National Park was formerly completely inhabited by the Batwa people, who are indigenous forest dwellers with a rich cultural heritage. Visiting the Batwa trials gives you a chance to relive their traditional ways of life like hunting techniques, and medicinal plant use, as well as opportunities to participate in traditional dances and lastly storytelling by the Batwa women.

The park is home to one habituated gorilla group, and permits are required for gorilla trekking, which can be obtained through Uganda Wildlife Authority, as we all know nature cannot be rushed so trekking can take between 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on your luck.
